Hello! Happy Monday :)
This week is another photography post from me, and it's all animals! These images were taken at a trip to Peak Wildlife Park last September. Pixie had an amazing day and we had so much fun looking at the animals, but we particularly enjoyed feeding the wallabies. I remember taking her there when she was really little and she absolutely loved the wallabies then too (I remember that she tried to ride a wallaby at one point), but she was a lot more gentle this time (thankfully).
These were all taken on my Fuji X-Pro1 and I didn't take a long lens with me because I'm an idiot, so some of these photos aren't as good as I'd have liked but we work with what we have don't we.
I hope you like these photos. A special thanks to all the cute and adorable animals that posed so beautifully for me! In alphabetical order, rather than order of cuteness:
Goats
I absolutely adore goats. They're fantastic animals for all sorts of reasons, but I mostly love the fact that they're absolutely bloody mental. At Peak Wildlife Park, you can walk among them and they're all quite happy to come up to you and have a chat. They're so lovely, and didn't complain that I was taking lots of photos of them. They are very beautiful with the most wonderful eyes.
Lemurs
You can also walk in with the lemurs at peak Wildlife Park but unfortunately you can't cuddle them. When we were there, they had just had BABY LEMURS! I was obviously very excited about this and realllllly wished I had taken a longer lens with me. But I did still manage to get some nice photos because they were just chilling quite close to the path thankfully.
There was a lady talking about the lemurs and their babies while we were there and it was really interesting. I really liked the lemur lady because she clearly loved the animals and I could have listened to her talk about them for hours, especially when she was pointing out who was in each of the family groups and explaining the personalities of each lemur. It was amazing.
Watching them feed the lemurs was super cute too, especially when the mama lemurs came up with their little babies on their backs. Adorable.
Meerkats
Meerkats are great, especially when they're sat in a little deck chair. That's all I have to say on the matter.
Penguins
Pengwings! (iykyk).
Now, I cannot remember just how many times I have considered stealing a penguin but it's a lot of times. Obviously I would never actually do it but I'll be honest: I really really want to. I have looked into it enough that I know how extortionately expensive they are to keep and that's the main reason I haven't. But how cool would it be to have a few little penguin friends running around your home? I'm just saying.

We did spend ages watching the penguins while we were there because they're just so cute and fun. I swear one of them was posing for me.
I also find them fascinating because they're so clumsy on land when they're waddling around and falling over each other, but they're just incredibly graceful in the water.
Please don't actually steal a penguin, it's incredibly irresponsible.
Wallabies
And finally, the wallabies. Apparently it's spelled 'wallabies' and not 'wallabys' as I'd first tried to type, but whatever.
Getting to walk around with the wallabies was literally amazing. They're absolutely bloody adorable and not at all shy (probably because they send you in there armed with wallaby food). We spent a while with one particular wallaby and even when we ran out of food, he was happy to sit and let us stroke him and tell him he was beautiful for ages. They're so gentle and calm.
I'd definitely recommend a visit to Peak Wildlife Park if you get chance. The animals are all looked after so well, the humans caring for them are incredibly knowledgeable, and so much work goes in to giving the animals the best life possible.
I didn't get any decent photographs of the polar bears they acquired a few years ago (lack of long lens coming to kick me in the butt again), but the talk from the polar bear guy was really interesting and he explained some of the ways they ensure the polar bears are getting the closest experience to the wild as possible.
That's all from me for this week. I look forward to talking to you again next Monday when I will be sharing some of my modelling work with you!
