An Unexpected Hike to the Perfect Location
Hello and Happy Monday!
Today I'm going to share with you some images from my recent shoot with Scott, who you may know as MCCCXIV. I've done a couple of posts with images from shoots with Scott before in this post featuring woodland nudes and this one in the cocoon. His images of me have also featured in a few other posts too, so if you're a regular here then you will likely recognise his name. You can find Scott and more of his work on PurplePort, Instagram, or Youtube (and if you like AI art, then check out his AI account on Instagram too). He shoots on a Canon EOS 80D if you're interested.
Anyway, before I show you some images from our latest shoot, I just wanted to chatter a little bit about how we found the location for these images because it was really kinda perfect. We had initially agreed on a location and drove there on a Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks ago to make the most of the lovely afternoon light. When we got there, there was nowhere to park and lots of people about. Which was a problem and sort of a no go if you're planning to shoot art nude or fashion nude like we were. But if you've been doing this as long as I have, you know that this is a likely possibility, especially on weekends or in the school holidays. So you make sure that you have options. I suggested an alternative place nearby and we started to drive towards that. On the way there, we spotted a new potential location, and decided to detour to see if it was viable to shoot there or not (on the understanding that the back up location was still an option if we found that the new place wasn't accessible or something).
Anyway, we did a drive by and decided that we should be able to get there with a bit of a walk. So we parked up, grabbed our stuff out of the car, and started to walk up to the location. It was interesting walking up to the location: we nearly detoured again towards another interesting place before realising it was way further than we wanted to go from the car, it was extremely uneven ground (and I'm quite clumsy at the best of times) and we had to climb a fence to get there. It was weird as well because it felt like it was miles away and then all of a sudden we were there.
In the end, it was totally worth it because the location was fantastic. The light was perfect. There were no people around. We got some absolutely wonderful images in a few varied sets. And plus, I got to model two necklaces made by Scott specifically for this shoot too. It was great (as a shoot with Scott always is) and we captured some absolutely beautiful images from it that I am about to share with you here. I hope you like them as much as I do.
Denim Vest
These first two shots are among my favourites taken with a denim vest jacket and one of the two necklaces Scott had made. I really love the styling for these fashion nude shots. Also, I enjoy posing among rocks because it gives you interesting shapes to try use in your posing. This rock was good because of it's height and angle, a ready made triangle waiting for a semi naked model to lean on it. Perfect.
In a couple of other places with the same outfit, we captured these: a reclined shot on one of the rocks (yes it was very uncomfortable) and one taken away from the rocks, standing up with the drama of the clouds in the sky with the landscape stretching on behind me.
Denim Vest Seated Poses
These next two shots look cool sat on top of one of the rocks. I love the clouds behind me. Obviously I wasn't aware of them at the time when I was posing, but they add an extra line through the image that works really well. And also the vast landscape behind me adds to the feel of being isolated up there, but bear in mind that we had just come from a very crowded location that was only a few minutes down the road in the car.
This last shot in this section was taken with me sat among the plants covering the rock (it wasn't any comfier than sitting on the hard rock to be honest, but worth it for the texture they add to this image)

Denim Vest and a Hat
Scott always brings a few hats with him to shoots and we used a few of them in these sets in various outfit/necklace combinations. This shot was my favourite of the ones with hats, and the other necklace that Scott made for the shoot. As it was quite windy, it was difficult to model in a hat as it kept nearly flying off, so a lot of my poses centred around trying to make me holding it on look incidental, rather than trying really hard not to lose something that belong to a photographer. I feel like I managed to pull it off (in between giggles).

Standing Nudes
To contrast the more modern style of the pervious images with the beads and denim, are some timeless and more simple classic art nude images. I love the pose in this first one, it feels powerful and the wind in my hair adds some movement to the image. The second one feels like quite a strong, feminine image, and I really love the shadow cast on the rock down to my left. We really enjoyed playing with the afternoon light.
Seated Nudes
Here are some more simple art nudes, but this time seated on the rocks with the wind in my hair. These first three are all pretty similar but they're all quite lovely. I find sometimes a small variation in a pose can drastically change an image and it makes it impossible to choose a favourite, they're all lovely for different reasons, even though the variation is really subtle. I also like that the first and last image here are implied nude too. The three together make a nice tryptic:
Then these next two go from a sort of dreamy vibe, to a more dramatic one. The first I love because of the pose and the rocks behind me. The second image I love because of the sky and the movement in my hair caused by the wind, which give it a level of drama that just works in art nude form.
White Shirt
My trusty white shirt and one of Scott's lovely necklaces, pared with my favourite rock from our little hidden and hard-to-walk-to location gave us this image:

White Shirt, a splash of colour
Since all of these images have been black and white so far, I thought it would be good to add in a little splash of colour before I finish up with some portraits, so here are some images of me in the white shirt with the bead and shell necklace that Scott made for this shoot. The middle image here is my favourite: big rock, dramatic pose, beautiful landscape.
Portraits
And to finish up, here are some lovely black and white portraits of me day dreaming with the wind in my hair wearing a black jacket.
And that's all from me for today, thank you for reading this blog post and I look forward to sharing more with you next Monday.

That all worked very nicely indeed. I just wish there was a shot of the giggles happening with the hat...
Lovely work, both of you. Beautiful images. It may have been a bit of a hike toget to the location but it was definitly worth it.
We have had three shoots together so far, but it feels more like about nine shoots because we have managed to pack so much variety into each of our shoots! I'm really pleased with the way these came out 😊❤️
