Misuzu Photography: A Spring Walk

Hello and Happy Monday!

I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend and enjoy the bak holiday today.

It's finally spring, and the weather has started to improve... which is hopefully going to mean lots of location shoots! But until then, here are some lovely images I took on a nice walk recently. It was still quite chilly, but the light was lovely and Pixie had a wonderful time exploring (and frequently giving me heart attacks by stumbling on rocky ground and walking right on the edge of a really steep slope, but there we go).

Flowers

I realllllllly need to get a macro lens again, but until then, I'll just do my best without one. I do love photographing flowers and I'm quite pleased with how they turned out.

Moss

Again, These would be really cool with a macro lens, but I actually really like these with a bit more in frame and a shallow depth of field. Plus, the colour is lovely.

Then when converted to black and white, I love how it seems to bring some of the textures out.

Sticks and Roots

I quite enjoy taking photos of things that other people would probably walk right past. It makes me a very frustrating person to go on a walk with though when I keep stopping, and Pixie wasn't too happy about me trying to photograph random things that she wasn't interested in looking at.

Monochrome Trees

I think I mentioned in a previous post about not really taking many landscape images, and I've been actively trying to change this. I think I much prefer the result when I convert them to black and white and add in some contrast. The light that day was great for contrasty images.

I really liked the way the light was falling on this fence, and it looked lovely with the flowers in front of it too.

Pixie

And here is my mini me off on her adventures. Again, I much prefer the monochrome edit here, especially as blakc and white creates a more timeless feel and what's more timeless than childhood!

And as we were walking with a friend who bought his dog along, it would have been rude not to include her in a shot too. Pixie was delighted to have a little friend to play with on the walk and they were both as bad as each other for running off and getting stuck somewhere off the path!

Pancake Lens

I had a go on my friend's pancake lens on his camera when we went for food after our walk. Although this was just a random shot I fired off, I really love the effect of it and I immediately went and ordered my own one. It arrived a few days ago and I'm so excited to explore with it in my photography.

And that's all from me for today! Thanks for taking a look at my photography post this week and I look forward to sharing more of my modelling work with you next week.
