Woodland Nudes

Hello and Happy Monday <3
This week in the middle of this horrible heat, I'm bringing you some lovely woodland art nude images taken by Dave Edkins last month. Obviously it's way too hot for clothes so it felt right to do a post with some art nude imagery for today! And because it's been a busy week and it's too hot to function properly, this post is going to be quite brief (don't worry, I'll get back to my rambley self for next week if it cools down a bit!)
These images were taken by Dave on his Nikon D850 and edited by me.
To start with, I want to remind you of an image that I finished the blog post with last week:

It was a test shot to see if we could shoot some art nudes here so I was just wearing my muggle clothes. I thought it would be a good to start this post with the actual images we took there. Sometimes it's a good idea to test out the shot before you pose properly, especially when shooting nude because if the shot isn't going to work then you've saved yourself the faff of getting undressed and dressed on location! I think these ones worked out quite nicely.
White Material
One of my favourite props to use in more classical art nude imagery is simply a piece of material. You can do so many different things with it and sometimes just having it draped across your arms can add an extra dimension to the image (Dave has a wonderful collection of materials that he brings to shoots).
I think these images worked really well despite the fact that the sunlight was super strong and directly overhead: some people don't like the harsh shadows this causes but I actually quite like it. And it was good to not be absolutely freezing for a change!
Okay, so I'd accidentally put this image at the end of the blog post because when I was sorting out these images I thought it was just an art nude without the white material. Oops. So I'm just inserting this in where it actually belongs and I'm gonna blame the heat. It is a pretty image though, right?

This monochrome edit is my favourite from the set. I think it has an almost vintage quality to it that I really like.

White Material: Colour Vs Black and White
Here are a couple of colour vs black and white shots for you to have a look at. The first one is a more contrasty edit and the second one has a more faded look to it. I love how the feel of the images are completely different with one small editing decision as they are otherwise quite similar (same location/light quality and similar posing).

Nudes
To finish up, here are some woodland art nude images without the white material. I really love the pose in the first image here, and the second one was taken in the same place as the two comparisons above (just sitting on the log instead of standing on it). I got so many spikes in my feet getting that second shot. The perils of shooting on location.
Last but not least, one final colour nude. I love the expression on my face in this one:

And that's all from me for today, so go cover yourself in sun cream and enjoy that bank holiday weather!

That's a fabulous set of images, great work both of you!
I generally don't like shooting when the sun is bright and directly overhead casting strong shadows, around this time of the year... I usually prefer earier in the morning or later in the afternoon, closer to the golden hour light, but somehow you have made these work really well!
Absolutely stunning images throughout!
